What Kind of Service Should I Desire from DirecTV?

If you’re looking for internet through DirecTV, unfortunately you’ll have to look for a different provider. DirecTV does not offer internet services. On the other hand they do offer a great cable service. Their cable is available through streaming or a satellite that requires an installer to come to your house to hook up. There are four different packages DirecTV offers for cable service. The first one being their Entertainment Package. With each of these packages they go up in price but as you go up the list you get more and more premium channels and more basic channels to go along with it. The second package they offer is their Choice Package for $79.99 a month. Third is the Ultimate Package for $99.99 a month. Fourth is the Premier Package for $149.99 a month. The premier package is the last and most expensive package. This comes with 330+ channels 185+ of them being HD, all the premium channels like HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, etc. 

What Kind of Service Should I Desire from Dish?

Dish also has four packages available to their customers. A downside to Dish is they only have satellite TV available, they don’t have the streaming option like DirecTV does. The first package in Dish’s lineup is their All Time Favorites & Locals. This comes with 190 channels, America’s top 120 and over 28,000 on demand titles. This package will cost you $69.99 a month. Just like DirecTV the more money the package costs the more premium and normal channels you’ll be getting. Dish’s second package is the Everything Sports Package which will be $84.99 a month. Third is the Everything Sports & Entertainment Package which will be $94.99 a month. Last is Everything Sports, Movies & Entertainment Package which will be $104.99 a month.

Which Provider is Better?

Now, this will require a little bit of homework since their channel lineups aren’t listed in this post. Both Dish vs DirecTV have channel lineups under each of their packages so you know exactly what channels you can expect when purchasing their service. It is evident that Dish’s packages are more reasonable than DirecTV is but affordable service isn’t good and useful service isn’t cheap. There have been plenty of reviews from customers about both services that state how good and how terrible each one can be.
